An internet search is easier when you know what you are trying to establish. Write the question in one sentence before opening many tabs. Then look for evidence that answers that particular question.
Make the search specific
Include the task and relevant device or context. Read result summaries, but open the source before relying on them. Search rankings, advertisements and polished page design are not substitutes for checking the information itself.
Compare like with like
Choose two sources that address the same question. Notice whether they refer to different versions or situations. For instructions about a product, the official support material is a useful starting point when it is available.
Record the answer and its source
Write a short note in your own words and keep the page address with it. Mark anything that remains uncertain. If a site asks for unnecessary personal details before showing a basic explanation, consider looking elsewhere.
Try this yourself
Research how to change text size on your own device, then save a short instruction note.
Check your understanding
Does the instruction match your device, and can you return to the source if the setting changes?
